Two worlds in one place.

FAMILY – THE SMALLEST COMMUNITY.

It’s already been over seven years since Charlene and Lorenzo moved from Italy to Berlin Prenzlauer Berg together with their first child. A lot has happened in the meantime: one child turned into four, a café has become a gelateria and their first customers have become friends. Although both would call a lot of people a part of their community, there is not much time left to share after taking care of an ice cream store and a family of six. Or as Lorenzo would say: “Our family is the smallest community we are part of.” And that’s why all the friends they can spend time with are part of the family, as well.

LIFE IS AN ICE CREAM STORE.

Diversity is the universe that surrounds Charlene, Lorenzo, their family and friends
day by day. Charlene speaks French with the kids, Lorenzo Italian. At school the kids speak German and with friends, conversations are in English. For Lorenzo, diversity means an enrichment of every aspect of his life that has helped him to learn more about himself. For Charlene, it means even more: “Diversity? That is the beauty part of everything. Of every day.” Basically, for these two, every day is like the selection in their ice cream store: The more flavours you combine with each other, the better.

Charlene: “We are married, we are living
together for 11 years. Okay: my top one?”

Lorenzo: “It’s salted caramel.”

Charlene: “…”

Charlene: “YOGHUURT!?!”
